It counts visits to your website, not clicks on social media. diib’s social traffic numbers come from your Google Analytics. They show visits to your website that Google Analytics credits to social networks like Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and X (Twitter). Social platforms count different things, so their numbers rarely match. ### Why the numbers look different - **Clicks aren’t visits.** Facebook and Instagram count link clicks. Google Analytics only counts a visit when your page loads and the tracking code runs. If someone clicks and leaves before the page loads, they won’t show up. - **App browsers can hide where visitors came from.** Visits from inside the Facebook or Instagram apps sometimes arrive without that information, so Google Analytics may count them as “Direct” traffic instead of social. - **Different date ranges and time zones.** Make sure you’re comparing the same dates, and check the time zone set in your Google Analytics property. - **Ad blockers and cookie banners.** Visitors who block tracking or decline cookies may not be counted. - **Missing tracking code.** If Google Analytics isn’t installed on the page you shared, visits to that page won’t count. ### How to make your social traffic more accurate - Add UTM tags to the links you share on social media, for example `?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social`. When you sync Facebook, Instagram or YouTube with diib, you’ll also see stats from those platforms.
