If your site is getting over 100 visitors a month and your aren't getting many leads from your Handshake, here are some best practice tips.
If your Diib Handshake isn’t getting the leads you think it should be getting, you might want to tweak your Handshake and try something new.
Here are a few of the best practices we use when deciding what will work best for a member’s website:
- Straightforward call-to-action. Have a clear, inviting button that says exactly what to do next (like “Sign up now”, “Get Your Discount”, “Join Now”, etc).
- Keep your message clear. This is probably someone’s first time visiting your site so use welcoming words and make it super clear what benefits they’ll get by signing up. No need to get wordy here!
- Sweeten the deal. If you aren’t already offering a discount, consider offering an incentive like free shipping off their first order, 10% off their first order, or a free digital download for those who sign up.
- Keep the sign up simple. If you’re asking for a lot of information, try adjusting your Handshake to just ask for the basics, like an email address, to make signing up easy and quick.
- Add a sense of urgency. Sometimes saying an offer is for a limited time can encourage more sign-ups.
- Add your Handshake to your entire site. If you only have your Handshake popping up on one page, try adding it to all of your pages…that way you won’t miss anyone.
- Use engaging questions. Pose a simple, engaging question in your Handshake to spark interest. For example, something like "Want to make your Mondays brighter?" creates a friendly, conversational tone that’s also natural.
- Pay attention to seasonal themes. Is a major holiday approaching? Think about how to use the design and message of your Handshake to align with seasons, holidays, or even current events, making it more relevant and timely.
Remember, the goal is to make your Diib Handshake as inviting and unobtrusive as possible, turning it into a pleasant part of the user's experience on your site.
