If you're sure you have a sitemap and you're getting notifications we can't find it, here's what to do.
If Diib isn’t recognizing your sitemap, here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue:
-
Make Sure Your Sitemap is Accessible:
- Verify that your sitemap has been submitted to your Google Search Console account.
- Check for any syntax errors or issues in your sitemap file.
- Confirm that your
robots.txt
file allows search engines to access your sitemap. Learn more here. - Use a tool like https://seositecheckup.com/tools/sitemap-test to double check your sitemap.
-
Allow Time for Crawling:
- After making any changes, allow search engines time to crawl and recognize the updated sitemap.
-
Check Security Features:
- A firewall or security setting on your website may be blocking Diib’s web crawler. Whitelisting Diib.com in your website’s security settings can resolve this issue.
-
If Your Sitemap is Correct:
- If your XML sitemap is built correctly and indexed by Google, you can safely ignore the alert in your Diib dashboard.
- You can also refresh your Diib dashboard by clicking the "refresh" symbol next to your industry in your main dashboard view.
These steps should help resolve most sitemap recognition issues.
