Why Isn't My Handshake Getting Any Leads?

If your Handshake is live on your site but you aren't seeing any leads, here could be some reasons why.

If less than 10 visitors a week are seeing your Handshake, there could be a few reasons:

Your overall traffic is low. Don’t give up! There are lots of ways to improve your traffic and leads.

How to fix this:

1. Add more content to your site, like a blog. Well-written blogs that are made for your audience will help bring in organic over time. Don’t forget to use keywords you want to rank for! For more information on your keywords, click here.
2. Engage on social media. No matter what type of business you are, you can benefit from social media.
3. Expand the keywords you want to rank for. Go to Keyword Explorer in your dashboard. Enter a keyword you think your visitors would search for in Google to find your service or product, then Keyword Explorer will show you related keywords you could target in your content.
4. Pay for ads (and traffic). Running ad campaigns on Google Ads or Facebook Ads can be a quick way to bump up your traffic, but make sure you do your research before pouring too much money into it. 
5. Create (and update) your Google Business Profile. This is a free listing from Google that allows you to provide details about your business, including your location, services, photos, posts, and reviews. Update it regularly so that people can find you and review your business.

Another reason you might not be seeing leads or much traffic is because your site is new. If your site is newer than six months, you’re still in the beginning stages. Be patient and don’t worry, you’ve got this!

How to help grow your organic traffic.

1. Add content to your site. Like we mentioned above, a blog is a great addition to most sites and a good way to start ranking for keywords (and pulling in more traffic). You’ll want to post a 1000-word blog at least once a week using keywords you’re targeting. Remember, Google is always scanning your site and indexing it, so new content that’s relevant and interesting to your audience will do well.
2. Get your domain authority (site strength) up by getting backlinks. Backlinks give Google a thumbs up that you’re an authority on a subject. They help boost your site’s strength, current keyword rankings, and increase your chances to rank for higher-difficulty keywords. 3. Ask clients, friends and family to review you on Google and Yelp.
4. Make content for social media and YouTube. The more you can share your business with the world, the more you’ll give people a chance to come to your website.
